The one thing worth knowing
At 100 labels the film costs what the paper costs. At 3 000 it costs 60 % more.
Blank stocks are priced almost entirely on setup at low volumes, so a hundred polyester labels are €68 against €64 for the same size in paper — a difference of four euros, which is no difference at all. The material only starts to speak further up the run: at three thousand, the same band is €138 against €86.
The practical consequence is worth stating plainly. On a short run, there is no financial reason to choose paper — take the film and stop worrying about damp, oil or handling. On a long run, the film has to earn its €52: if the label lives indoors on a dry carton and is read within a week, it will not.

The mistake that ruins the order
A polyester label is only as durable as the ribbon that marked it
Resin ribbon — the right answer
Resin bonds into the film instead of sitting on it. It survives water, alcohol, abrasion and a wet glove. On polyester it is the only ribbon we recommend.
Wax ribbon — the wrong one
Cheap, made for paper, and it smears the first time a thumb crosses it. A waterproof label whose print rubs off is not a waterproof label.
Direct thermal — impossible
There is no heat-sensitive coating on a film: a ribbonless printer runs it through and gives you back a blank label. If your machine has no ribbon, you need blank paper.
Matt white is deliberate: a gloss film reflects the print head and reads badly under a scanner at an angle. The matt surface takes resin cleanly and scans from further away.
What it survives
Water, tearing, solvents and a scrubbing brush
Polyester is the most chemically stable stock in the blank range. It does not swell in water, does not tear when a corner is caught, and shrugs off the alcohols and light solvents used to clean laboratory and workshop surfaces. It stays dimensionally stable in heat where a polypropylene would soften — which is why it is the film under most machine plates and asset labels.

FAQ
Blank polyester — what customers ask us
Can I use it in a direct thermal printer?
No. Direct thermal relies on a heat-sensitive coating that only papers carry; a film has none and comes out blank. Polyester needs a thermal transfer printer — one that uses a ribbon. If your machine has no ribbon slot, take blank paper or the thermal paper instead.
Which ribbon should I load?
Resin. A wax ribbon is made for paper and smears on film at the first contact, which defeats the point of buying a waterproof label. Wax-resin is a compromise that works indoors; full resin is what survives water, alcohol and abrasion.
Is polyester better than polypropylene?
For heat, solvents and long outdoor life, yes. Blank polypropylene is three euros cheaper per hundred, comes in three adhesives instead of one, and is enough for anything that lives in a fridge, a bathroom or a kitchen. Polyester is what you take when the label meets a cleaning product or a warm surface.
Does it come in clear or silver?

What is the largest size?
Up to 100 × 70 mm, free shape — the ceiling for every blank stock. Larger polyester labels exist but are supplied printed by us: see industrial labels, which run to 100 × 105 mm and beyond on quotation.
