Removable & Wash-Off Labels · Functional
Four ways to come off, and they are not interchangeable
The short answer: « removable » covers four different adhesives with four different endings — lifted by hand, lifted from glass without a mark, dissolved in a wash line, or repositioned during application. Choosing the wrong one is the most expensive mistake on this range, because it is only discovered at the end of the product's life.

Choosing
Start from how the label ends
| What has to happen | Adhesive | Typical case | From / 100 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Peeled off by hand, cleanly | Removable | Promotions, temporary claims | €184 |
| Lifted from glass with no mark at all | Ultra-removable | Windows, displays, borrowed surfaces | €216 |
| Dissolves in a wash line | Water-removable | Deposit jars, returnable crates | €248 |
| Repositioned while being applied | Repositionable | Hand application on short runs | €175 |
| Stays for the life of the product | Permanent | Everything else | €137 |
All five are available on ordinary coated paper and on most films — the adhesive is a choice at the order, not a separate product.
The one that surprises people
Water-removable is not the same as removable
A removable label comes off when someone decides to take it off. A water-removable label comes off when the container goes through a wash line — deliberately, at 60 to 80 °C, leaving no fibre and no glue for the next filling. It is the specification behind deposit and returnable systems, and it is the exact opposite of the washable label, which is built to survive the same machine.
The two get confused constantly, because both are described as « for the dishwasher ». Ask which one should still be there at the end and the answer becomes obvious.

FAQ
Removable — what customers ask us
What is the difference between removable and ultra-removable?
Strength of bond and what it leaves. A removable adhesive lifts cleanly from most surfaces with a firm pull. Ultra-removable is weaker still and is specified for glass and displays where absolutely no mark is acceptable — at the cost of holding less well if the label is knocked.
How does water-removable actually work?
The adhesive is formulated to release in hot water with detergent, typically between 60 and 80 °C. In a wash line the label lifts off in one piece and leaves no fibre or glue for the next filling — which is precisely what a bottle-washing plant requires.
Will a removable label survive a year on the product?
It will hold, but a removable bond ages: after a long time on a textured or dusty surface, it can either lift on its own or become harder to remove cleanly. If the label has to stay for years and then come off, say so — that combination usually points to a film rather than a paper.
Can I have a removable adhesive on any material?
On coated papers and most films, yes. Textured creative papers and some specialist films carry only a permanent or reinforced adhesive; the configurator above shows the adhesives actually available for the material you select.
Which one for a promotional flash on a bottle?
Removable at €184 per 100 on coated paper — enough to hold through distribution and to be peeled off by hand at the end of the operation. Ultra-removable is over-specified and will lose the fight with a shelf-edge knock.
