Printing on a mirror
Black is not a limitation here, it is the effect
One colour on silver costs €140 per 100 and full colour €215 — but the price is not the reason most people choose black. Printing inks are transparent, so any colour laid on a mirror keeps the metal glinting underneath: a red becomes a metallic red, a blue turns slightly grey-green. Black is the only ink that reads exactly as intended, and the contrast against the silver is what makes the label look expensive from two metres.
If a brand colour has to be exact, we print an opaque white underneath it first and the colour behaves as it would on paper — at the cost of hiding the metal in that area. Most designs end up using both: flat colour where accuracy matters, bare silver everywhere else.

Two things to know
Always laminated, never waterproof
The lamination is not optional
Ink on a metal surface has nothing to sink into: unprotected, it scratches off with a fingernail. Every metallic stock therefore ships with a gloss or matt lamination included in the price — there is no bare version, and that is deliberate.
Underneath the metal, it is paper
A silver paper swells and lifts in a fridge or an ice bucket, exactly like any other paper. For a chilled bottle or a bathroom product, use the metallised film at €207 — same shine, a film underneath.

FAQ
Silver paper — what customers ask us
Why does black print better than colours on silver?
Because printing inks are transparent. Laid on a mirror surface, every colour keeps the metal glinting through it — a red becomes a metallic red rather than the red you specified. Black is unaffected, which is why the classic silver label is a black one.
Can I get an exact brand colour on it?
Yes, by printing an opaque white under that area first, then the colour on top. It reproduces faithfully — but the metal no longer shows where the white is. Most designs use it on a logo and leave the rest bare silver.
Why is it always laminated?
Because ink sitting on metal has nothing to key into and scratches off unprotected. Every stock in this range includes a gloss or matt lamination in the price. Gloss deepens the mirror, matt softens it into a brushed impression — same price either way.
Is it waterproof?
No. The surface is metallised but the base is paper, so condensation swells it and an ice bucket destroys it. For anything chilled or wet, the metallised film at €207 per 100 gives the same effect on a waterproof base.
How does it compare with hot foil?
Silver stock makes the whole label shine; hot foil makes one element shine against a matt paper. Foil on a textured stock costs about €195 more per 100, so for an all-over metal effect this paper is both cheaper and stronger.
