Blank rolls make sense when the whole label changes constantly and nobody needs colour. But a one-colour thermal print is rarely what a brand wants on a shelf, and printing a logo on every label in-house is slow.
Overprintable rolls solve that: we print your design in full colour and leave a coated panel free, you overprint the date, the lot and the barcode as you pack. Same stocks, same factory, one printing step less on your line.

Blank rolls — what customers ask us
What is the difference between blank rolls and overprintable rolls?
Blank rolls are completely unprinted: your printer produces the whole label, design included. Overprintable rolls carry your design already printed in full colour, with a coated panel left free for the date, the batch or the barcode you add as you pack. Same stocks, same factory — the difference is who prints the brand.
Which stock works with my printer?
Direct thermal printers need a thermal paper, which darkens under the print head with no ribbon. Thermal transfer printers use a ribbon and will print on most papers and films. Inkjet needs a coated inkjet stock or the ink beads up. Tell us the printer model with your request and we match the stock rather than leaving you to guess.
What sizes do blank rolls come in?
Seven standard bands: 20 × 20, 35 × 35 and 50 × 50 mm fixed sizes, and any shape up to 35 × 70, 55 × 70, 75 × 70 or 100 × 70 mm. The ceiling is 100 × 70 mm — an A6 carrier label is above it and is supplied printed on white polyester instead.
Can I get freezer or security stocks blank?
Yes. The blank range mirrors the printed catalogue: freezer paper and film, a cryogenic polypropylene rated to −196 °C, VOID and destructible security films, food-grade papers, textured and recycled stocks, and a polyimide film for high temperature. Eighty-four stocks in total, from £38 to £125 per 100.
Are blank labels laminated?
No, and they cannot be: a lamination would sit between your printer and the label surface. Blank stocks ship unprotected, which is also why what you print on them is only as durable as your own printer and ribbon. Where durability matters, thermal transfer with a resin ribbon on a film outlasts direct thermal on paper by years.
