The short answer: a destructible film is engineered to be weaker than its own adhesive. Lift a corner and it tears into fragments — nothing to reassemble, nothing to transfer to another product. It is the warranty and property-marking standard: from €242 per 100 in full colour on acetate, or €162 in one colour on the more conformable 3M grade.

Two grades, two jobs
Acetate for a printed seal, 3M for a hard surface
Destructible acetate, at €242 per 100 in full colour, is the seal you design: a brand, a warranty wording, a batch of colours. It is thin and brittle and it fragments perfectly on smooth surfaces. A transparent version exists at €285 when what is underneath must stay visible.
3M destructible polyurethane, at €162 per 100 in one colour, is the technical grade: more conformable, so it follows a moulded case, a ribbed housing or a screw head, and cheaper. It is the material behind most property marking.
Both share the same limit: they are not removable. Once applied, taking the label off means scraping fragments. That is the product working as intended.

Destructible — what customers ask us
How does a destructible film work?
It is deliberately weaker than its own adhesive. The bond to the surface is stronger than the film itself, so any attempt to peel tears the label into fragments rather than lifting it. There is no technique that removes one intact.
Acetate or 3M polyurethane?
Acetate at €242 per 100 prints in full colour and suits designed warranty seals on smooth surfaces. The 3M polyurethane at €162 prints in one colour, conforms to moulded and textured surfaces, and is cheaper — the usual choice for property marking.
Can it be removed if I change my mind?
Not without scraping. That is the product doing its job. If a label might legitimately need removing later, a destructible film is the wrong choice — use a removable adhesive and accept that it offers no security.
Should the seals be numbered?
For anything auditable, yes. A destructible seal proves it was not moved; a serial number proves which item it belonged to. Numbering is printed in the run from 100 labels, at about €112 per run — see numbered labels.
Does it work on a screw head?
The 3M grade does — it is thin and conformable enough to wrap a screw head or a small joint, which is where warranty seals usually go. The acetate is more brittle and prefers a flat surface.
